I SEE YOU OFFERED LESSONS THIS PAST SATURDAY AND THIS COMING SATURDAY. WHEN IS THE VERY NEXT TME YOU WILL OFFER LESSONS? I WANT TO GIVE MY 10 YR OLD GRANDSON FOR THIS BIRTHDAY, BUT HE HAD SOCCER LAST sATURDAY AND WILL BE IN pHILLY THIS COMING sATURDAY. pLEASE LET ME KNOW ASAP. tHANKS.

lessons are usually on saturdays unless someone books a party on that day first call for availability

Ray Young is a model teacher. The GRINDlab provided a fun and safe environment for our 6 year old to begin skateboarding. Ray taught the basic lessons, as well as the advanced lessons.

either a tHree block wIth a HanDrail likE woodward, or a euro gap!

a euro gap is in the future there are many improvements comin the euro gap should be in within three months

smaller boxes around 6 inches tall

the begin-gnar area will be built within two weeks there will be several smaller obstacles and boxes in place soon

what will be in the begin gnar section

the begin gnar section will have a small mani-pad with a 8 inch ledge two 3 foot quarters and a small wedge ramp

may girls come?

but of course ladies are welcome there is no discrimination in skateboarding

i wish that the park would open at 6am so that i could start my day with a good skate session, just 1 dat a week, or even 1 day a month. its hard for me to find time to skate(that fit the park hours) with my schedual.

We'd love to open the park more more but the problem is off peek hours are cost prohibitive sorry noon to 9 is all we can do

another skatepark that only allows skateboards... why is bmx not allowed?

bmx bicycles do too much damage to the ramps with or without pegs for them to be operable for skaters. Also the lines bmx and skate are different adding to the number of collisions and crowding. but do not despair we are building a bike trak in the back in the spring stay tuned for details

As an aging BMX veteran, I have to agree that we do indeed create the majority of damage with concrete-sharpened pegs and bars that somehow ended up losing their end-plugs, and our pedals are only slightly kinder. But PLEASE, PLEASE get something up and running for us and we'll make it worth your while. I suspect that there are more of us in central PA than anyone realizes.

thank you so much for your honesty sir I was so sick of getting trolled online by bikers screaming at me that bikes do no more damage than skateboards. and for your honesty sir I will build you a bike trak this spring, design tba ( i think it's gointo lean toward a jump style trak) We need to clear all the stuff through city council they are bein very nice so that's a good sign. when the trak is completed we are goin to need a group of core riders who are willing to maintain the trak in exchange for free sessions, so keep that in mind and I hope to see you in the spring

do you think you will build more street obstacles soon instead of just building all this transition? It would be rad to make a new smaller downrail so you can work your tricks up to the bigger ones and a new gap or something.

there will be street obstacles in the future however when I took over the park two months ago there was no flow and the mini was already decaying. I admit that the improvements that I have made are for the flow howevever do not despair I will be making many street improvements now that i feel the park has sufficient flow

how about a bowl? Any plans for one?

the bowl will be built after street refit for the inside, the dirt trak for for the bmxer's, the outdoor street plaza, the bowl and then the vert ramp. so to awnser your question, yes but not till the (at the earliest) the spring of 2013 stay tuned

can you enter just the skate contest i dont get it begginer and advanced?

there will be a beginner, intermediate and advanced skatebaord competitions that you can enter without entering the snow board half of the competition. the prizes are still sweet in the skateboard competitions. but if you want the big prize of lord of the boards you have to enter the advanced competion in skateboarding and snowboard at ski rountop in the morning.

is there certain days for little kids or hours for them so not to be in way of bigger kids

we do not have a specific time for younger riders however I recommend that they come in as soon as we open at noon because the park is usually not that crowded. in addition we did add a secluded begin gnar section that is out of the way of major traffic lanes of the park and caters to the needs of the begginer
Jeff Styers
manager

Jeff do you allow inline skates at the park. My son Skateboards was just wondering if I could use inlines there or not.

yes we do allow and welcome inline skaters. we do not allow bikes or scooters due to the damage the metal parts do to the ramps

will the skate contest be made up of timed runs or will it be till you fall on a trick? what is the fee for the contest?

a jam style format will be used for the begin-gnars, intermediate and advanced with a 1 min timed run in addition for the advanced. the begin-gnars will have a warm up from 1p-115p with a half hour jam from 115p-145p immediately following the begin-gnar's the intermediates will have a warm up till 215p the intermediates will have a jam until 245 and the advanced will immediately follow with a warm up until they are ready to go. following the advanced division ther will be a best trick contest for its 15$ to enter any of the timed contests and the best trick. to enter the best trick only is 10$. basically it is the admission plus $3 best trick only is cheaper because it's later in the day there is no product toss but we are having a raffle. so come out and have a blast

Are scooters alowed?

sorry no scooters

new hubbas?

there is a bunch of new street improvements coming new hubba action new stair placement new wedges and a runway with many ledges so stay tuned...............shred the gnar!

flow would be much better with sMaller ramps (5' max). not too many opportunities to get techNical unless Skating flat or comfortable Bustin fliP Tricks over a 60 degree pyramid 100 mph. Park caters mostly to ramp shredders. sick fun boxes though.

I am in the process right now of building a two foot quarter pipe with three foot extension also I am goin to build a quarter with decreasing tranny on the other side of the large pyramid all of the new quarter pipes will be under 4 feet so come and enjoy the new ramps.

I saw that you guys were changing the set up. when will the changes be finished?

the changes should be completely finished on the 25th of april, the park is fully shred ready as is right now so come and shred we'd love to see you

my friend cant skate at all =( but i really want her to come to my party if i book it here. will someone be able to teach her the basics?

we do offer formal lessons on either saturday or sunday mornings and if you do book a party at grindlab there will be an experienced skater on hand to show any beginner the basics

we do offer formal lessons on either saturday or sunday mornings and if you do book a party at grindlab there will be an experienced skater on hand to show any beginner the basics

is there any news on a bmx track?

the field continues to be cleared and we have narrowed down our designers to two companies, our decision should be made soon and then we should be able to start building within a month so stay tuned I am personally very stoked and I'm not a bmxer
